Le 22 mai 2016, Adam Hughesman a pris la décision surprenante de mettre un terme à sa carrière, un choix qui est venu conclure un parcours professionnel aussi bref que prometteur. Son histoire dans la LHSBA est celle d'une seule et unique saison, qui laissait pourtant présager un bel avenir.

Lors de la campagne 2015-16, sous les couleurs du Moose au niveau farm, Hughesman a connu des débuts professionnels très réussis. Faisant preuve de durabilité en disputant 76 matchs, il s'est affirmé comme un joueur offensif fiable, amassant un total de '''38 points, dont 16 buts'''.
Lors de la campagne 2015-16, sous les couleurs du Moose au niveau FARM, Hughesman a connu des débuts très réussis. Hughesman n'a récolté que 18 minutes de pénalité en 76 rencontres, tout en affichant des qualités intéressantes dans plusieurs aspects de son jeu. Sa discipline (DI 80) constituait notamment l'une de ses meilleures caractéristiques.
