			Le 16 mai 2015, Andrew Alberts a mis un terme à sa carrière de cinq saisons, laissant derrière lui le souvenir d'un défenseur d'élite, d'un meneur naturel et d'une présence physique intimidante.

			Andrew Alberts était l'incarnation du défenseur défensif. Avec une note parfaite de 99 en mise en échec (CK), il était une force redoutable sur la glace, spécialisé dans les missions d'arrêt contre les meilleurs attaquants adverses. Au cours de sa carrière de près de '''250 matchs''' au niveau professionnel, principalement avec les Canucks et les Jets, sa contribution ne se mesurait pas en points, mais en solidité et en fiabilité.

			Leader exceptionnel (LD 95) et vétéran aguerri (EX 94), il était un pilier dans le vestiaire et sur la glace. Sa participation à '''22 matchs de séries éliminatoires''' au plus haut niveau témoigne de la confiance que ses entraîneurs lui accordaient dans les situations les plus critiques.

			La valeur d'Alberts sur le marché était immense. Il a non seulement signé un contrat important de deux ans avec les Canucks, mais il a aussi été une pièce maîtresse dans une transaction majeure impliquant la superstar Shea Weber en 2013, une preuve indéniable de l'estime qu'on lui portait. Fait intéressant, il a démontré lors de ses passages au niveau farm qu'il possédait un solide talent offensif (41 points en 78 matchs), un aspect de son jeu qu'il a volontairement mis de côté pour exceller dans son rôle défensif au plus haut niveau.

			Il se retire en tant que modèle du défenseur à caractère, un joueur qui a su allier robustesse, leadership et un sens du devoir irréprochable.
