Wayne Simpson, un attaquant talentueux dont la carrière est un véritable modèle de persévérance, a officiellement annoncé sa retraite de la LHSBA. Après des années de travail acharné dans les circuits mineurs, il a su saisir sa chance pour connaître une saison mémorable au plus haut niveau, prouvant que la détermination finit toujours par payer.

	~~La saison 2011-12~~ de ~~Rabbit avec les IceCaps de Saint-Jean restera à jamais dans les annales. L~~'~~attaquant a connu une année légendaire, marquant~~ un ~~total phénoménal de 60 buts pour 92 points en seulement 65 matchs~~. ~~Fait encore plus remarquable, cette domination offensive a été accomplie~~ avec ~~une discipline irréprochable~~, ~~ce qui lui~~ a ~~valu le trophée Lady Byng~~, ~~remis au joueur le plus gentilhomme. Cette combinaison d~~'~~excellence et d'esprit sportif est extrêmement rare~~.		Le parcours de Simpson a longtemps été celui d'un joueur fiable et productif dans la ligue "Farm". Que ce soit avec les Wolves ou les Griffins, il a constamment affiché de solides statistiques offensives, s'établissant comme un ailier de premier plan attendant patiemment son opportunité.

	~~Joueur~~ des ~~grands moments~~, il a ~~également prouvé~~ sa ~~valeur~~ en ~~séries éliminatoires~~. ~~Lors du parcours des Phantoms en 2013~~, il a été ~~une véritable machine, inscrivant 11 buts~~ en ~~13 matchs~~.		Le tournant de sa carrière est survenu en mars 2019, lorsqu'une transaction l'a fait passer de l'organisation des Red Wings à celle des Sabres de Buffalo. Ce changement d'air a été le catalyseur dont il avait besoin. Lors de la saison 2019-20, Simpson a disputé sa première et unique saison complète au niveau "PRO". Il a excellé dans son rôle, amassant 32 points en 82 matchs. Plus important encore, il a été un membre de l'équipe lors de leur long parcours de 14 matchs en séries éliminatoires.

	~~Malgré cette domination dans les circuits "Farm", Rabbit a eu du mal à transposer son~~ succès ~~au niveau "PRO". Au cours de brefs séjours avec les Jets et les Flyers, il~~ a été ~~confiné à~~ un ~~rôle~~ de ~~soutien~~, ~~ne parvenant pas à retrouver~~ la ~~touche magique~~ qui ~~le caractérisait au niveau inférieur~~.		Ce succès a été validé par la signature d'un contrat de trois ans d'une valeur d'un million de dollars avec les Sabres, la consécration pour un joueur qui avait passé tant d'années à faire ses preuves.

	~~Sa retraite~~, ~~annoncée~~ en ~~mai 2014, a surpris toute la communauté du hockey~~. ~~En quittant le sport après seulement trois saisons, Wacey Rabbit~~ laisse derrière lui l'~~héritage~~ d'un ~~talent unique~~, une ~~légende des ligues mineures dont la~~ saison ~~de 60 buts et son trophée Lady Byng resteront un fait d~~'~~armes inégalé~~. Sa retraite, annoncée en mai 2014, a surpris toute la communauté du hockey. En quittant le sport après seulement trois saisons, Wacey Rabbit laisse derrière lui l'héritage d'un talent unique, une légende des ligues mineures dont la saison de 60 buts et son trophée Lady Byng resteront un fait d'armes inégalé.
