En annonçant sa retraite de la LHSBA, Aaron Palushaj laisse derrière lui l'héritage d'un des fabricants de jeu les plus dynamiques de sa génération. Son parcours à travers de multiples organisations a fait de lui un ailier de premier plan reconnu, qui a su imposer son immense talent offensif ville après ville.
Palushaj était l'un des meilleurs passeurs du circuit, comme en témoignent ses trois saisons de 76, 83 et 83 points et son total de carrière dépassant les 265 passes. À son apogée, sa vision du jeu, son habileté et sa capacité à créer des occasions pour ses coéquipiers faisaient de lui une menace constante, capable de contrôler à lui seul l'issue d'un match.
C'est toutefois en séries éliminatoires qu'il a véritablement cimenté sa réputation de joueur d'exception. Loin de plier sous la pression, il l'utilisait pour atteindre un niveau supérieur. Il a mené son équipe, le Heat, à la grande finale lors de deux saisons consécutives (2014-15 et 2015-16). Ses performances durant ces parcours ont été légendaires : en 42 matchs éliminatoires, il a amassé un total incroyable de 59 points (27 buts et 32 passes), prouvant qu'il était un joueur destiné aux grands moments.
Son talent était si reconnu qu'il a été une pièce convoitée sur le marché des transactions tout au long de sa carrière, signant d'importants contrats qui témoignaient de sa valeur. Son parcours, bien que majoritairement au niveau « Farm », a été ponctué de plusieurs séjours au plus haut niveau, incluant une saison quasi complète de 63 matchs avec les Flames.
Bien que les grands honneurs individuels lui aient échappé, la carrière d'Aaron Palushaj est une réussite incontestable. Il était un passeur d'élite, un compétiteur féroce et un joueur qui a toujours répondu présent au printemps, laissant le souvenir d'un talent pur et d'un gagnant.
